21 May MATTE BAE
This look has definitely been a fan favourite for most of you guys. I’ve really appreciated all the love & continuous support I’ve been receiving from family, friends.
Briana Shanee is one of Los Angeles extremely well-known entrepreneurs & Matte brand’ very own founder & designer. Briana had definitely surpassed all industry expectations of what it is to be a youthful black, independent & ambitious woman. She started off her business from scratch while maintaining a career in modelling. The long awaited & anticipated launch of Matte has left many of us filled with high spirits & exhilarating excitement.
The Brand ranges from cozy cropped short sets, to bathing suits, swim wear collection, & denim two piece sets. All of Briana’s collections show such minimal & basic designs that carry out a sense of femininity & comfort. Briana has just been the ultimate boss since launching her business. Breaking all barriers & expectations placed upon her.
I think it’s only fair for you guys whom I share my personal cons from my experience with ordering my sets. So there had previously been a dilemma with my purchase from the Forward collection. I had actually originally ordered both colours to be burgundy but the sweat pants had come in, in the colour white.
It’s completely understandable people make mistakes & can be fixed in a heartbeat. I had then emailed Matte Brand & followed the refund & exchange protocols to receive the right colour. Which unfortunately was a long & slow process considering I live across the world from LA to fix the dilemma. Assuming that I’d get an exchange, I discovered the Forward collection had completely sold out & it was impossible to replace my sweat pants unless they wanted to design another one. The lovely & generous team of Matte brand had then offered to repay me back & given me my refund on a Matte brand gift card.
I’m going to be honest, I love Briana & I absolutely adore her brand, but I was extremely pissed off. I hadn’t held back from expressing my feelings about the situation via email. Thankfully, she had again released the forward collection but unfortunately not in the colour I wanted. I was grateful the forward collection had been brought out again for a second release. This enabled me to re-styled my whole look & purchased the black sweat pants which can still positively work with the burgundy. I’m happy to say the whole look went together a lot better then I had thought, with a hint of dark burgundy lips & finished off the look with Simmi shoes Amara Copper Lycra Lace up pointed ankle boots.
